TotalRock Launches Unsigned Global Rock/Heavy Metal Band Awards

Europe's "No. 1 rock/heavy metal radio station" TotalRock has unveiled what it calls the world's "most genuine" unsigned Global Rock/Heavy Metal Band Awards.

Voted for by the station's listeners, the awards will contain the most comprehensive list of rock and heavy metal band categories ever assembled!

The station's Program Director, Tony Wilson, says "These awards are very different to the usual suspects... it's the people who matter — TotalRock's listeners — the real fans of the music, who'll decide the winners in each category. Then a panel of judges made up of rock radio and TV DJs, record company execs and journalists will whittle the winners of all 60 of the categories down to FIVE overall winners.

"Every band that enters the awards will have their music featured on TotalRock and be heard by hundreds of thousands of listeners. They'll also each receive a document of qualification — which will help them get their careers really happening. The top five bands in each category will get a certificate confirming their stature in the global rock market — it will be a massive stamp of approval from the marketplace — and that is something that the generally rock-ignorant record companies can understand!

"And that's not all either — a panel of judges will pick the five overall winning bands who will each receive advertising and promotion on TotalRock valued at over £500 ($1000),have a podcast made about their music and receive immense kudos with the hugely influential TotalRock audience. The overall winner will also have the opportunity of appearing on TotalRock's influential RockWorld TV series 'Licensed To Rock' AND play a slot on the U.K.'s highly prestigious Bloodstock Open Air Festival."
